NOTABLE PROJECTS

Here at Allied Pumps we have provided our expertise and leading-edge solutions across many significant projects in the mining, commercial, industrial, environmental and process and water infrastructure sectors both nationally and overseas. While we treat each project with the same care and attention to detail, there are some projects we acknowledge are more notable than others. Here are some projects we consider to be our most iconic ones to date.

Canal Rocks – The first AS2941-2013 fire system designed, manufacturer and delivered by Allied Pumps

July 7, 2020

Canal Rocks Beachfront Resort sits waterfront at Smiths Beach in Yallingup. It offers beautiful accommodation for families, friends and couples visiting Yallingup and its surroundings. The facility required a fire pro pump set. We used the first AS2941-2013, which we designed, manufactured and installed the system, ensuring it met all standards and regulations. The project had its challenges since it was a first, however its successful completion enabled us to learn valuable information which will help in future installations. The project highlighted our ability to quickly learn on the job whilst successfully completing the project brief.

Cockburn Central Police Station – In-Situ Concrete Liner Tank

July 7, 2020

The Cockburn Central Police Station required several tank and pump solutions. Initially a galvanised regular tank was recommended. However, there were design issues with the concrete slab. The station requested an in-situ concrete tank liner. The design was changed to meet this need. Allied Pumps was able to provide a turnkey solution for our client on this project, saving the client from having to engage the services of several different sub-contractors to work on various aspects of the tank installation. This enable the client to place a single order with us for all the work on the tank and supply of the pumping systems, enabling him to focus on other aspects of the project. The final project consisted of a panel tank, circulating pump pack, hot water circulator, fire pump and tank liner pack. The result was a seamless integration between the pumps and the tanks, and reliable fire protection has been the overall outcome.

Christmas Island Airport – Aqua-Nova

July 7, 2020

The Christmas Island International Airport serves visitors and residents of Christmas Island, a territory of Australia in the Indian Ocean. The building required a containerised system for its fire pump set. We were able to offer expert advice and help in the installation and usage of the system for the Christmas Island Airport personnel.

Denmark Riverside Fibreglass Pump Package

July 7, 2020

This project was the result of a need to facilitate communication between two pump stations. One was located at Denmark High School; the other at Riverside Club. This project included supply, installation, and commission of control equipment. The objective was to pause the operation of the Riverside Club pump station when one of the pumps at the high school was operating. A dialler system was used to sync these two locations. We delivered the solution to connect these two systems which increased the efficiencies of the solutions.

Australian Embassy – Jakarta

July 7, 2020

The Australian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia required a water supply system. Because of its location, this was a very unique project. The spec required the materials to be stainless steel and fibreglass to resist corrosion. The site also needed a controller to monitor and operate water supply valves to fill tanks for use at the building. The three water supplies were the result of rainwater runoff from the roof, bore pumps and mains piping. To ensure that the specs were met, the valves were programmed to operate depending on the supply availability. The competing requirements of this project as well as working in a foreign environment created a number of challenges. We were able to rise to the challenge, through our strong organisational skills and execution of work.

Craft Street – 2 x 9.20m high tanks

July 7, 2020

The Craft Street project involved 8 adjoining lots which required fire protection. To solve this problem, two (2) tanks measuring 5.12 m in diameter by 9.20 m high were assembled onsite and situated next to a fire pumpset in its own custom built enclosure. By collaborating, the owners of the 8 lots were able to share the costs and find a collective solution that worked for them. The short lead time was met and we were able to meet the client expectations in the provided timeframe.

Bunge Grain Terminal Bunbury

July 7, 2020

This job represented a challenge as the insurance company who are the insurers of the BUNGE Grain Terminal required that a pumpset built to a North American standard be used on the job, otherwise they would not grant insurance cover. Insurance cover was conditional upon compliance with a standard for the fire pump not commonly used in Australia. This meant that a fire pump had to be specially imported from North America to supply to the fire company fitting out the fire services on site. Allied Pumps were able to work with an overseas Supplier to arrange the build and testing of the fire pump off shore, in a factory in North America, then arrange airfreight of some very heavy packages at considerable cost in order to reduce time lost in transit, to minimise delays in the building construction deadline. A further challenge was that there is NO LOCAL BACK UP for the North American controllers. Allied Pumps was able to rise to the occasion and overcome this challenge by our highly experienced technicians making contact with an overseas electrical technician to gain the knowledge necessary to overcome certain control panel commissioning obstacles. A fine outcome on a very challenging job!

Fremantle Port

July 7, 2020

Allied Pumps recently provided 2 Circular Colour Finished Steel Water Storage Tanks to a client near the edge of the water at the Kwinana Bulk Jetty. This area of Cockburn Sound is of significant economic and social importance as it facilitates trade to Western Australia and the nation. It is also subjected to very high winds (almost cyclonic during bad weather events) so special design considerations had to be incorporated into the tank design and construction. The tanks were constructed to 3mm in thickness all over (instead of the normal 3mm on the bottom strake and 1.95mm on the others). The tanks were fitted with harness points on the roof and installed with 2 SWAH doors per tank (normally one). The tanks were also powder coated in colorbond Off White finish to fit in with the surroundings.

Busselton Interpretive Centre, Busselton Jetty

July 7, 2020

Allied Pumps has a long history with Busselton, and in particular the famous Busselton Jetty. In 2000 we supplied a sewage pump station - designed to hang underneath the jetty under the centre. 18 years later the system is still in good condition and is testament to the high quality product working as hard today as it was when it was installed. In addition to this sewage pump station, we also supplied a concrete pump station and sewage pump station at the Underwater Observatory. More recently we supplied pump stations for the on-shore discovery centre.

Mundella Foods

May 19, 2017

Mundella was looking to reinvent an industrial filling system and outdated production line. The brief was to provide a food grade, fully compliant solution for the careful transfer of yoghurts and dairy products from vats, while maintaining constant and sensitive flow rates and meeting specific hygiene requirements. We engineered and manufactured an innovative solution to an outdated processing line using a mobile Wilden pumping package. Read on to find out how we achieved this.
