Allied Pumps’ hot water circulation systems are automated twin-pump packages designed to reduce energy consumption while maintaining a consistent-temperature hot water supply.
The complete unit incorporates pumps mounted on a common base with interconnecting pipework, valves, sensors, and associated components. Each package is pre-tested to ensure component compatibility and help eliminate incorrect installation.
By simplifying site installation and reducing the need to coordinate multiple trades, the system can help lower overall project costs.
The National Anzac Centre is one of Australia’s most important cultural pilgrimages. Located within Albany’s heritage listed Princess Royal Fortress, the centre overlooks the actual harbour from which over 41,000 men and woman departed Australia for the Great War. The project required a complete sewage system in a short amount of time. The system needed to handle minimal sewage flow but be prepared for high peak loadings. This is often hard to deliver, but our systems delivered a solution to ensure optimal operation.
Formed in 1905 to obtain, treat and distribute water supplies, the Bunbury Water Board has served the people of Bunbury for over 100 years. The city’s early settlers knew of water stored naturally underground and tried to use it to replace the Collie River and the Preston River, which were the only sources of water for drinking in those days. We supplied the first variable speed system to the water authority. It’s still being used today.
Blockages occur fairly regularly at Graylands Hospital, Western Australia’s largest mental health facility. Objects and clothing were often being introduced into the plumbing system. With 1,053 fixtures, the system needed help breaking up these foreign objects. Two of their grinder pumps were not properly handling foreign objects. After much investigation, the most practical option was to install a channel grinder in the existing mechanical screening pit. We designed specialised guiderails from 316 stainless steel. They were built in-house to suit the existing concrete structure. This solved the issue and eliminated peak flow blockages. The system has now been up and running for 24 months with no issues.
The City of Subiaco had an initiative to improve water quality. The focus was on reducing pollutants in Lake Mabel Talbot. The lake is in the conservation category wetland under the Environment Protection policy and functions as a Water Corporation compensating basin. The lake collects rainfall runoff from four sub-catchments, totaling 300 ha. A Gross Pollutant Trap needed to treat the entire flow prior to entering the system, and our Baffle Box was the only system to appropriately meet the design criteria. The Baffle Box was able to catch leaves and other pollutants before they could enter the lake. The result of this project was cleaner water and an improvement in the water quality.
Due to the hot weather that is common throughout the year in the Pilbara region, water stored in potable water tanks can often reach temperatures in excess of 40 degrees. This is unacceptable for applications such drinking and eye wash stations and we needed to come up with a solution to accommodate this. We also provided the fire protection for a new Sino Iron Steel Warehouse in a tight 6 week deadline. Keep an eye out for the Fire Protection provided and find out more about the Eye Wash Station below.
This job represented a challenge as the insurance company who are the insurers of the BUNGE Grain Terminal required that a pumpset built to a North American standard be used on the job, otherwise they would not grant insurance cover. Insurance cover was conditional upon compliance with a standard for the fire pump not commonly used in Australia. This meant that a fire pump had to be specially imported from North America to supply to the fire company fitting out the fire services on site. Allied Pumps were able to work with an overseas Supplier to arrange the build and testing of the fire pump off shore, in a factory in North America, then arrange airfreight of some very heavy packages at considerable cost in order to reduce time lost in transit, to minimise delays in the building construction deadline. A further challenge was that there is NO LOCAL BACK UP for the North American controllers. Allied Pumps was able to rise to the occasion and overcome this challenge by our highly experienced technicians making contact with an overseas electrical technician to gain the knowledge necessary to overcome certain control panel commissioning obstacles. A fine outcome on a very challenging job!
Allied Pumps recently provided 2 Circular Colour Finished Steel Water Storage Tanks to a client near the edge of the water at the Kwinana Bulk Jetty. This area of Cockburn Sound is of significant economic and social importance as it facilitates trade to Western Australia and the nation. It is also subjected to very high winds (almost cyclonic during bad weather events) so special design considerations had to be incorporated into the tank design and construction. The tanks were constructed to 3mm in thickness all over (instead of the normal 3mm on the bottom strake and 1.95mm on the others). The tanks were fitted with harness points on the roof and installed with 2 SWAH doors per tank (normally one). The tanks were also powder coated in colorbond Off White finish to fit in with the surroundings.
Allied Pumps creates insulated circular steel panel liner tank for the Karratha Health Campus to meet clients cold water requirements. We were able to meet the client’s stringent requirements to produce a cost effective, potable water tank that could withstand the extreme weather conditions. Rising to the challenge, this project was Allied Pumps first insulated circular steel panel liner tank complete with a cold water circulating program.
Allied Pumps has a long history with Busselton, and in particular the famous Busselton Jetty. In 2000 we supplied a sewage pump station – designed to hang underneath the jetty under the centre. 18 years later the system is still in good condition and is testament to the high quality product working as hard today as it was when it was installed. In addition to this sewage pump station, we also supplied a concrete pump station and sewage pump station at the Underwater Observatory. More recently we supplied pump stations for the on-shore discovery centre.
It’s been 25 years, and the Bickley Booster Pump Station is still going strong. In 1992, we took on this project. This challenge began with the need to solve a low-pressure problem in the Orange Grove area. A dual pump system operating on a variable speed control was installed. This included the base, pipework, valves, control system and pressure vessel. The pump set is still functioning correctly and addressing the original issue. This project represents the quality and endurance of our pump systems.
Allied Pumps packaged hot water circulating system includes pumps mounted on a base together with interconnecting pipework, valves, sensors, and associated components. The system is pre-tested to ensure component compatibility before installation.
Where site limitations prevent installation of the full hot water circulating system, Allied Pumps can provide a pump system consisting of dual pumps with unions, cord & plug, and a controller.
Yes, an option is available for the packaged hot water circulation system to be supplied inside a heavy-duty, lockable metal weatherproof enclosure.
Allied Pumps’ hot water circulating system provides temperature or timer control, automatic pump alternation and a duty override selector. Plug-in control is also provided to simplify installation.
Yes, Allied Pumps’ hot water circulating system is certified to WMTS 103:2016.
